Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) > Customer Review #1:
Continues the Potter Tradition

The first three Harry Potter books shocked, astounded and touched me. The unique British style has delighted me throughout this trio of novels.

The fourth is in a whole new ballpark.

When something is flawless, where do you begin? When there are innumerable impeccable qualities to describe, where do you start? Those are the queries I face as I begin writing this review.

Rowlings writing style is whimsical yet contrite. It is comprehensible by children in the third grade or higher, but enjoyable by adults of all walks of life.

This book, like the others in the series, is able to depict the humans, humorously dubbed "Muggles" as well as the wizards, with impeccable humor and emotion. Truly delightful. The 700+ pages may seem daunting at first, but before you realize it, youre done with this wonderful book all too soon.

Sometimes people face decisions in life. These decisions can be foreboding, difficult, and intimiditating. This is not one such decision. Dont hesitate to click the "Add to Shopping Cart" button at the top of this page. Not only is the book good--the [...] price is too (trust me--Ive shopped around).

You wont regret this book.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) > Customer Review #2:
Jo Rowling does it again!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was well worth the wait. The book literally grips you from the very first page. I got it at 12:01 on Saturday morning and didnt put it down until I finished it at 5:35 A.M.

Harry, Ron and Hermione are in their fourth year at Hogwarts. Harrys off to an exciting start to the year, as he attends the Quidditch World Cup with the Weasley family. Unfortunately for Harry, his fourth school year is a year of problems. The shadow of Lord Voldemort (the most powerful evil wizard in the world) looms larger than ever. Despite this, Harry manages to live the life of a normal wizard teen. Harry, Ron and Hermione begin to notice the opposite sex. The angst of trying to find someone to take to the school dance is hilarious -- I literally laughed out loud. Rowling handles this traditional rite of passage in a wonderful way.

The characterization in this book was excellent. Even minor characters are fleshed out well. However, I must caution parents with small children that the book is somewhat darker in tone than the rest of the series. Four people die in the course of the book. None of the deaths are explicitly shown, and there is no gratuitous violence, but younger children may be frightened. (The level of violence is comparable to that in C.S. Lewis Narnia series).

I hope all of you will enjoy this book as much as I have. Happy reading -- and heres hoping the rest of the series is just as good, if not better!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) > Customer Review #3:
ANOTHER YEAR IN HARRYS LIFE

Like all of her books, this book keeps you wanting more. J. K. Rowling is an exceptional writer that knows how to keep her readers captivated.

This installment, the fourth in the Harry Potter Series, is as amazing and magical as all the others. This year starts off with Harry attending the Quidditch World Cup with Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Mr. Weasly. But strange things are happening at the Quidditch World Cup. Someone even releases the "Dark Mark" into the sky.

Then at school Harry is told that there will be no quidditch this year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And you will just have to read the book to find out why.

Amazing! Simply Amazing.
