Dont bother - even the sex wasnt that good
I picked up this book hoping it would be a good story, but I was very disappointed.

lt;br /gt;I have grown tired of LKH. Since she has discovered that she can write about sex, her novels have seem to be based around tawdry threesomes with very little substance elsewhere. I like sex, sex is wonderful, but come on now. Can I please have a good story to go with it? I am SO very tired of Anita over analyzing situations and of her pettiness. If this was also wearing on you as well from LKHs previous novels, then this will put you over the edge.

lt;br /gt; With that in mind this book makes a great coaster for my coffee.

Wish I had reviewed the reviews...
I kind of feel like the next one should be free.

Not too bad...
I stopped reading the series after Obsidian Butterfly. I read about 4 chapters into Narcissus in Chains--borrowed from the library--before chucking it across the room. Since then, I havent picked up a Anita Blake book. Dont even get me started on those Meredith Gentry books where itll take book# 12 in the series before the heroine gets pregnant. Even then Im sure itll be a convenient miscarriage. Anyway, back to the point... The only reason why I picked up Micah was because I had a long wait between flights and nothing better to do. Either my self-imposed hiatus from the series made this book better than I thought or Im just nuts. Id perfer to think the later because Im still not convinced that the next book will be any good.
lt;br /gt;
lt;br /gt;Nonetheless, I somewhat liked this novella-turned-into-overly-priced book. I liked going back to Anitas zombie-raising days, which is what brought me to the series in the first place. Not sure if there was any zombie raising in the books after OB. I was pleasantly surprised that this book was able to stay on track without 95% turning into a sex romp and the other 5% carrying the plot. But since this book was written as a novella, shouldnt it have a novella price attached to it? Or better yet, why not give the fans a treat and just offer chapter by chapter over the internet?
